Texans still have $9.7 million in salary-cap room

The Texans are $9.7 million under the NFL salary-cap limit of $155.27 millions following a series of new contracts executed this month, according to NFL Players Association records.

That includes a recent $900,000 one-year contract for running back Jonathan Grimes with a $700,000 base salary and a $200,000 guaranteed roster bonus, and a one-year, $800,000 deal for safety Antonio Allen with a $720,000 base salary and an $80,000 signing bonus.

The Texans had $42 million in salary-cap space until engaging in a major spending spree when they signed several players.

Their salary-cap figure includes a $72 million deal for quarterback Brock Osweiler, $28 million for offensive guard Jeff Allen, $26 million for running back Lamar Miller, $5.
