The Texans are signing former Seattle Seahawks running back Troymaine Pope to the practice squad, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
Pope worked out for the Texans earlier this season.
The Texans needed depth at running back with D'Onta Foreman to be placed on injured reserve with a ruptured Achilles tendon. They have Lamar Miller, Alfred Blue and Jordan Todman on the active roster.
The Texans are promoting wide receiver Cobi Hamilton to the active roster with Will Fuller (cracked ribs) and Chris Thompson (knee) sidelined.
Pope went undrafted out of Jacksonville State last year and has played for the Seahawks, New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts.
