The Texans have signed Texas Christian offensive guard Cordel Iwuagwu, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
The 6-3, 309-pound former Westfield standout ran the 40-yard dash in 5.2 seconds at the NFL scouting combine, bench pressing 225 pounds 25 times.
An honorable-mention All-Big 12 selection, the Houston native played in the East West Shrine all-star game.
He started all 12 games last season at left guard.
A former first-team all-district selection, he chose TCU over Arizona State, Illinois, Louisville and Syracuse.
The Texans have also signed Notre Dame linebacker Jamir Jones, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
