The Texans have signed center Nick Martin, their second-round draft choice from Notre Dame.
Martin's four-year contract was negotiated by R.J. Gonser, who works for Creative Artists Agency.
Martin, 6-4, 299, is expected to win the starting job at center that became vacant when Ben Jones signed with Tennessee.
General manager Rick Smith traded up two spots with Atlanta to select Martin with the 50th overall pick after Notre Dame wide receiver Will Fuller was taken in the first round.
It was the first time since 2003 the Texans used their first two draft choices on offensive players.
