The Texans made a change Tuesday at their third quarterback spot.
They signed veteran Josh Johnson and cut former Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt McGloin.
The Texans also cut veteran defensive lineman Kendall Langford. That clears a roster spot to activate tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz from injured reserve-designated to return.
Johnson is a well-traveled former Tampa Bay Buccaneers fifth-round draft pick.
He's played for the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens.
He was cut by the New York Giants prior to the start of the regular season.
