Texans sign Mike Adams, cut Jerell Adams, work out four players

The Texans officially signed veteran safety Mike Adams.

Adams, 38, has 30 career interceptions. He started every game the previous two seasons for the Carolina Panthers, intercepting five passes.

The Texans created a roster spot for Adams by cutting tight end Jerell Adams, no relation. Jerell Adams had been inactive the past few games.

The Texans cut offensive tackle Christian DiLauro and safety Austin Exford from the practice squad and signed safety Jonathan Owens.

The Texans worked out former Los Angeles Rams tight end Keenen Brown (Texas State, Alief Taylor) along with former Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Elijah Nkansah, offensive tackle Paul Adams and center Casey Dunn, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
