The Texans held onto strong safety Eddie Pleasant with a two-year contract instead of signing him to a restricted free agent tender of $1.671 million.
The Texans retained cornerback A.J. Bouye with a $1.671 million restricted free agent tender, the original round or right of first refusal tender.
Pleasant played in every game last season, recording 28 tackles and two interceptions. He defended six passes and recovered a fumble.
Bouye held contract discussions with the Texans with a long-term deal offered, but ultimately the AFC South champions assigned him a tender.
The Texans have the right to match any offer sheet.
