Texans players saw their specially designed cleats for Sunday's game at Green Bay for the NFL's My Cause, May Cleats campaign.
For the first time, the league designated a day when players can wear cleats promoting a cause.
Texans players participating had their cleats customized by designer Darwin Itzep from Airbrush Brothers.
Cornerback A.J. Bouye had his late mother's name, Jackie Baskin, on the sides of his shoes. She died of cancer before he turned 2. He was brought up by his father, grandparents and other relatives.
"I think about her every day, about what could have been different if she was in my life," Bouye said.
