Texans' search for a new GM begins with a flurry

Sunday was a whirlwind day for the Texans as they begin the interview process this week to replace general manager Rick Smith.

Green Bay director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst came to Houston on Saturday and had dinner with coach Bill O'Brien before accepting an offer to become the Packers' new general manager around 2 a.m.

Buffalo vice president Brian Gaine, who worked for the Texans under Smith for three years (2014-16), is coming to Houston on Monday to interview Tuesday.

Jimmy Raye III, who finished his first season as the Texans' vice president of football operations/assistant general manager, interviews Wednesday.
