Texans veteran safety Quintin Demps is getting involved in a community outreach initiative aimed at assisting homeless students in Houston.
Demps is set to attend a back to school event Monday morning at SEARCH Homeless Services on Congress Avenue.
The program, which includes proving support, therapeutic services and case management to help economically disadvantaged students, includes employment, housing and parenting skills.
A second House of Tiny Treasures in the Third Ward is opening in August to expand the program to more than 100 needy children. It provides traditional daycare services for homeless children and an educational program and transportation from area homeless shelters.
