Texans running back Carlos Hyde off to fast start

NEW ORLEANS – Living up to his reputation for his hard-nosed running style, Texans running back Carlos Hyde provided a tackle-breaking presence and burst in his debut with his new team.

Acquired in a trade from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for offensive lineman Martinas Rankin, Hyde rushed for 46 yards on six carries in the first half against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night at the Superdome.

A former San Francisco 49ers second-round draft pick from Ohio State, Hyde is playing under a one-year, $2.8 million contract and working in tandem with Duke Johnson.
