Texans RT Derek Newton Agrees To Pay Cut

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that Texans RT Derek Newton has agreed to reduce his base salaries over the next three years from $4.75 million to $1.75 million (2017), $2.25 million (2018) and $2 million (2019).

Wilson adds that Newton has $500,000 roster bonuses in 2017 and 2018 to go along with $2 million in total per game active roster bonuses in 2018 and another $1 million total per game active roster bonuses in 2019.

This comes just a few weeks after the Texans officially placed Newton on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
