Texans rookie kick returner Tyler Ervin underwent a long convalescence from cracked ribs, returning to practice for the first time since getting hurt against the Oakland Raiders.
The fourth-round draft pick from San Joseph State missed the past three games. He was limited in practice Wednesday.
"It's good to be back out there with the guys," said Ervin, who has lost two fumbles and is averaging 18.8 yards per kickoff return and 10.6 yards per punt return with one run for three yards and three catches for 18 yards. "It's a recovery process. I just made sure I'm doing all my rehab and staying on top of my treatment.
