HOUSTON -- Texans rookie defensive end Dylan Horton announced Monday that he had stage four Hodgkin's Lymphoma, but is currently in remission.
Horton stepped away from the team during Week 12, citing a "personal matter" as the reason on Nov. 22. On Monday he said he learned of his cancer diagnosis on Dec. 1.
Horton did not play again during the season. He said Monday that his health is trending in a positive direction and that he's focused on getting healthy and eventually returning to play for the Texans.
"Through God's grace, I'm blessed to say that I'm currently in remission," Horton said in a statement released by the Texans.
