Fourteen years ago today, they opened the curtain on their inaugural season, and that game arguably remains the most memorable regular-season contest in franchise history.

In hindsight, maybe it wasn't so stunning, as that was a terrible Cowboys team with Quincy Carter at quarterback.
But back then, it was momentous.
In Houston's first NFL game since the Oilers' last season in 1996, the Texans became just the second expansion team to win its debut, joining the 1961 Minnesota Vikings, who beat Chicago in their first game.
