Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Texans are releasing OL Tony Bergstrom on Thursday.
Bergstrom, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Raiders back in 2012. He played out his rookie contract with the Raiders before signing a two-year, $5.75 million contract that included $1.5 million guaranteed with the Texans back in March of last year.
Bergstrom was set to make a base salary of $1.25 million for the 2017 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Bergstrom will free up $2,875,000 of available cap space while creating $375,000 in dead money.
