The Houston Texans are releasing veteran K Nick Novak as they trim their roster down to the 53-man limit, according to Mark Berman.
Novak, 35, was a somewhat surprising cut from the Chargers at the start of 2015 year. However, he managed to catch on with the Texans midseason and re-signed with the team following that season.
He finished a one-year, $965,000 contract with the Texans and was re-signed by the team to a one-year, $1.15 million contract.
In 2016, Novak appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and converted 35 field goals on 41 attempts (85.
