Texans' red-zone failures continue

INDIANAPOLIS - Although the Texans ultimately won the football game over the Indianapolis Colts, they were nearly undone by a negative season-long trend.

The Texans were ineffective in the red zone, going 1 for 5 there as kicker Nick Novak bailed them out by kicking five field goals.

During a 22-17 win at Lucas Oil Stadium, the Texans' methods of manufacturing points in close quarters again proved ineffective.

"No doubt going 1 for 5 in the red zone offensively is just unacceptable, period," said quarterback Brock Osweiler, who was intercepted once and completed 14 of 24 passes for 147 yards and no touchdowns for a 58.
