Texans re-sign A.J. Hendy, cut Tyvis Powell

The Texans have re-signed safety A.J. Hendy and cut safety Tyvis Powell, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.

Hendy, 26, went undrafted out of Maryland.

The 6-foot, 209-pounder has previous stints with the Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers.

Hendy was released by the Texans a week ago when Powell was signed. He was originally signed by the Texans in January off of the Chargers' ractice squad.

Powell was previously with the San Francisco 49ers, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns.
