FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Texans veteran strong safety Quintin Demps has been officially ruled out for Saturday night's AFC divisional-round playoff game against the New England Patriots due to a hamstring injury.
The leader among all NFL safeties with six interceptions, Demps could have been at risk of aggravating the injury in the chilly weather at Gillette Stadium.
Demps practiced all week, albeit on a limited basis after getting hurt against the Oakland Raiders in an AFC wild-card playoff win.
The Texans will go with Corey Moore starting opposite free safety Andre Hal.
Meanwhile, outside linebacker John Simon was also scratched due to a lingering chest injury.
