Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Wednesday morning.
The procedure, performed by Texans team doctor Walter Lowe, was a success, according to coach Bill O'Brien.
Watson is expected to make a full recovery in time for next season.
"Dr. Lowe said it was great," O'Brien said. "Everything went great."
Watson tore the ACL in his left knee at Clemson and made a full recovery to become a national championship game winner, Heisman Trophy finalist, consensus All-American and first-round draft pick.
There's a lot of confidence that Watson will make a full and speedy recovery within eight to nine months after displaying multidimensional skills as a rookie that transformed the Texans' offense into a cutting-edge, high-scoring unit.
