At 41, punter Shane Lechler is having one of the best seasons of his 18-year career.
After another outstanding performance against Indianapolis on Sunday when he punted eight times and put five inside the 20, including three inside the 10, Lechler has a 50.2-yard gross and a 42.6 net.
“I’m hitting the ball well right now,” he said Monday. “I’m not red-lining every ball, and it’s working out. I’ve kind of cut back on that, and I’m trying to put the ball where I want to.
“I’ve changed my routine a little. I use pregame warmup to dial in where I used to go out there to put on a show for everybody.
