The Texans worked out cornerbacks Trevor Williams and Picasso Nelson on Friday, but they weren't immediately signed to contracts.
Armstrong was cut earlier this season, then re-signed to the practice squad.
Armstrong (6-0, 185 pounds) was cut by the Miami Dolphins this year after they drafted him in the sixth round last year. He recorded eight tackles in 15 games as a rookie last season.
