Texans' prepping for banged-up Jets' running game

The New York Jets' offense may be in a pass-first mode Saturday against the Texans, a strategy dictated by health more than choice.

The Jets' running game in in flux due to injuries.

Running back Isaiah Crowell, the Jets' leading rusher with 685 yard and six touchdowns, has been in a walking boot this week with a toe injury.

The Jets would have to go with Elijah McGuire (ankle) and Trenton Cannon (toe), who have been limited in practice. McGuire has gained 158 yards and Cannon has rushed for 80 yards.

The Jets will have to lean heavily on rookie quarterback Sam Darnold, the first-round draft pick from USC.
