HOUSTON -- For the second year in a row, the Houston Texans are delaying the start of part of their offseason program due to severe flooding.
Houstonians have been advised by the Mayor Sylvester Turner to stay off the roads, many of which are submerged and unsafe to use right now. The Texans are closing their offices completely for the day.
Last season the Texans canceled the first day of organized team activities due to severe flooding. Those May floods caused damage that cost the city $45 million, according to the Houston Chronicle. Thousands of homes were damaged and several people died due to the floods.
