The Texans unveiled a $750,000 pledge to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston to build a facility designed to provide programs to engage teenagers in the community.
The space at Airline Drive in Houston will include a music studio, workout room, college and career center, counseling office and game room.
"As the father of a teen, I will tell you there are special needs that teens have," Texans team president Jamey Rootes said during a press conference Thursday, which included Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston president and CEO Kevin Hattery, Boys & Girls Clubs board chairman Christopher Papouras along with the Reagan High and Texans' cheerleaders.
