When the Texans went with young kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn as the replacement for Nick Novak, they hoped that the former Lou Groza award winner would provide accuracy and a strong leg.
So far, Fairbairn has been as advertised.
He's connected on all nine of his field goal attempts, including three kicks against the Tennessee Titans with a career-long 50-yarder. He's scored 38 points and made 11 of 12 extra points, missing wide left Sunday against the Titans. The nine consecutive field goals is the most consecutive kicks made to start a Texans career in franchise history.
“He’s done a good job," Texans coach Bill O'Brien said.
