Texans place Lamar Miller, David Steinmetz on IR

The Texans placed Pro Bowl alternate running back Lamar Miller on injured reserve, officially ending his season.

Miller tore his anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments against the Dallas Cowboys and will undergo surgery to repair the damage.

Miller rushed for 973 yards last season. He will be replaced primarily by former Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson.

Meanwhile, the Texans placed former Purdue offensive tackle David Steinmetz on injured reserve. Steinmetz broke his ankle during practice last week and underwent surgery.
