Texans place D’Onta Foreman on injured reserve

Related Topics: Troymaine Pope

Without any surprise at all, the Houston Texans announced on Wednesday that they’ve placed rookie running back D’Onta Foreman on season-ending injured reserve, after he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon this past Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Texans also announced that they’ve signed running back Troymaine Pope to their practice squad, released quarterback Josh Johnson, promoted wide receiver Cobi Hamilton to their 53-man roster and claimed running back Andre Ellington off of waivers from the Cardinals.

I would expect Ellington to be on the field this coming Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens, but his involvement in the offense might be limited due to the fact that he still needs to learn the Texans’ playbook.
