The Texans placed offensive tackle Derek Newton on injured reserve today and re-signed offensive tackle Jeff Adams.
In Monday night's loss at Denver, Newton suffered season-ending injuries to his patellar tendons in both knees and is lost for the season. He's expected to undergo surgery this week.
Adams, who came to the Texans in 2014 from the Tennessee Titans, was starting at guard early last season when he suffered a torn patellar tendon in his knee and was lost for the season.
Adams (6-7, 305) was with the Texans in the offseason and preseason but was waived in the last roster reduction.
