For Texans veteran kicker Nick Novak, being jettisoned by the San Diego Chargers after four successful seasons last year didn't create hard feelings.
Novak is philosophical about the change as the Chargers moved on from him prior to last season and installed Josh Lambo as their new kicker, one year removed from Novak making 22 of 26 field goals and all of his extra points.
As the Texans (6-4) prepare for a game Sunday against his former employers, Novak insists it's just another game for him.
"There's no story there as far as me trying to do anything special," said Novak, who has connected on 21 of 26 field goals this season with one missed extra point.
