Texans' Nick Novak gets emotional about violence in old hometown of Charlottesville

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – Texans kicker Nick Novak played high school football in Charlottesville, and he became emotional after practice Monday talking about the violence in the Virginia city over the weekend.

"It's the devil's work," Novak said about the death and injuries that resulted from clashes between protesters and counterprotesters at a "Unite the Right" rally. "It's horrible to see all that. It's nasty stuff, and I really feel for my friends that live there. I didn't see anything like that when I was growing up in Charlottesville.

"It's terrible. I don't think it's a political issue.
