HOUSTON -- In a preseason without three-time defensive player of the year J.J. Watt, it didn’t appear the Houston Texans would have any problems forcing turnovers.
In four preseason games, Houston’s defense had 12 takeaways, including five in the regular-season dress rehearsal against the Arizona Cardinals.
With the promise of a return by Watt and the emergence of other defensive playmakers, it looked as though the Texans were headed toward a successful regular season in that category.
