Donning racing helmets and scooting around an indoor track Tuesday night, Texans middle linebacker Brian Cushing and his teammates participated in a charity go-karting event
The Cushing Cup Celebrity Go-Karting Challenge at K1 in Houston benefited the former Pro Bowl linebacker's charitable foundation, which provides resources to Houston area military veterans and their families.
"It's always good to get all the guys out here to support and get everyone out here," Cushing said. "It's always fun and it raises money for a good cause for my foundation."
Cushing was joined by several teammates, including J.J. Watt, Derek Newton, Andre Hal, Duane Brown, Kareem Jackson, Johnathan Joseph, Ryan Griffin, Dalton Freeman, David Quessenberry, Andrew McDonald, Whitney Mercilus, Benardrick McKinney, Brandon Dunn, Akeem Dent, Kevin Johnson, Kenny Hilliard, Chad Slade, Kendall Lamm, Cecil Shorts, Brian Peters, Antonio Allen, Nick Novak, Jon Weeks, Kurtis Drummond, former Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson and former Texans offensive linemen Chester Pitts and Wade Smith along with Texans vice chairman and chief operating officer Cal McNair and his wife, Hannah.
