The Texans bolstered their already healthy salary-cap situation with the roster cuts of running back Arian Foster, tight end Garrett Graham and, soon to be, former safety Rahim Moore.
The Texans will create $11.18 million in additional salary-cap surplus with those reductions and will be $42.149 million under the NFL salary-cap limit of $155.27 million with 54 current contracts.
The Texans saved $6.625 million with Foster, $3.125 million with Graham and $2.068 with Moore.
The Texans are expected to use some of that money to try to re-sign offensive guard Brandon Brooks and center Ben Jones and by extending restricted free agent and exclusive-rights free agent tenders.
