When the Texans grabbed David Carr with the No. 1 overall selection of the NFL draft in 2002, then-CEO of the Houston Sports Authority Oliver Luck cheerfully mentioned to a reporter that Luck’s 12-year-old son appeared to have an affinity for playing quarterback, as well.
On Sunday night, that affinity was again on mostly radiant display before a full house in the same building Luck, a former Oilers quarterback, once spoke so amiably of his oldest son’s budding love of the game.
For much of his burgeoning career, too, Andrew Luck has appeared to be as at home in NRG Stadium as the luckless Carr ever was.
