The Houston Texans entered free agency as one of the more cash-strapped teams across the NFL earlier this month. A slew of subsequent moves by general manager Nick Caserio cleaned up Houston's salary sheet.
Caserio and the Texans' front office cleared a combined $16 million with the contract restructures of star wide receiver Nico Collins and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. This week's trade of offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil gave the Texans just under $14 million in immediate salary relief, plus $28.5 million in cap savings in 2026. Caserio added an additional contract restructuring on Friday.
