Texans' Jonathan Grimes returns from illness

Texans reserve running back Jonathan Grimes returned to practice after missing the past two games with an illness.

Grimes didn't make the trip for their past two road games, including a loss Monday night to the Oakland Raiders at Estadio Azteca.

Grimes missed four games earlier this season with a cracked fibula.

Grimes has rushed for 23 yards on six caries and has five receptions for 28 yards. Last season, Grimes rushed for a career-high 282 yards and one touchdowns and caught 26 passes for 173 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, outside linebacker John Simon and rookie running back Tyler Ervin didn't practice due to chest injuries.
