Cornerback Johnathan Joseph has watched Tom Savage for three seasons and believes the fourth-year quarterback is ready for his opportunity to become the Texans' starter.
Savage and Brandon Weeden, the only quarterbacks on the roster, are expected to be joined by a prospect drafted as high as the first round.
"It's big for him," Joseph said Tuesday about Savage's opportunity. "He has all the physical talent, all the tools to be a starting quarterback in this league.
"He's a guy that really wants it. He's worked to get better at his craft every year. He really got upset when he was hurt (concussion) at the end of the season and couldn't finish things.
