Acknowledging he was rusty after missing the entire preseason, Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt made a successful return Sunday during his first game back from back surgery.
Watt wasn't as disruptive as usual as he finished with one tackle, three quarterback hits and no sacks during a 23-14 win over the Chicago Bears, but that wasn't a surprise from the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Most importantly, Watt experienced no setbacks with his surgically repaired back after undergoing a microdiscectomy procedure in late July to repair a herniated disc.
"I knew I wouldn't have any problems with my back, and I didn't," Watt said.
