Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn pectoral and proclaimed the procedure as a successful one.
The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year injured his left pectoral while making a tackle on Oakland Raiders rookie running back Josh Jacobs on Sunday.
Watt is expected to make a full recovery before next season. He will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
"Everything went smooth," Watt wrote on social media, sharing a photograph of himself in a sling at his hospital bed and wearing an Astros baseball cap. "Thank you for all of the kind words.
