For his philanthropic efforts to provide relief in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt has been named a finalist for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
Watt helped raise $37 million through an online fundraising initiative he launched. Watt also personally handed out supplies and met with victims along with his teammates.
He is a finalist along with Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen and Baltimore Ravens tight end Ben Watson. The winner gets $500,000 in their name to charity and is announced the night before the Super Bowl.
