PHILADELPHIA - Jadeveon Clowney is still wondering why he was flagged for a critical roughing the passer penalty in the final minutes of a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Clowney delivering a crushing hit to Eagles quarterback Nick Foles' chest on 3rd-and-10 directly after he delivered a pass to Alshon Jeffery for a first down. The extra 15 yards helped position Eagles kicker Jake Elliott for the game-winning field goal.
Clowney didn't hit Foles late or drive him into the ground. He did appear to lower his helmet to initiate contact, which is a rule violation.
