The Texans have hammered out a three-year contract extension for fullback Jay Prosch, according to Prosch's agent, Pat Dye Jr.
The deal is worth $3.75 million and includes $2.7 million guaranteed, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
Prosch, a former sixth-round draft pick from Auburn, is known for his lead blocking skills and work on special teams. Prosch has been praised regularly by coach Bill O'Brien for his toughness and versatility.
The Alabama native is one of the strongest players on the roster and has bench pressed over 500 pounds.
Prosch has played in all but one game in his three seasons with the Texans, starting eight of them.
