Texans ink center Nick Martin to three-year, $33 million extension

The Texans locked up veteran center Nick Martin to a three-year, $33.5 million contract extension, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.

A former second-round draft pick from Notre Dame, Martin received $18.35 million guaranteed in the new deal that was negotiated between Texans senior vice president of football administration Chris Olsen and Martin's representatives at Creative Artists Agency.

Martin was in the final year of a $4.975 million rookie contract and was due a $1.101 million base salary.
