Texans injury report: New linebacker Ben Heeney sidelined

New Texans linebacker Ben Heeney didn't practice Thursday due to a knee injury.

Heeney said he's coming off a minor arthroscopic knee surgery and should be able to play soon.

He was claimed off waivers Wednesday after being cut by the New Orleans Saints.

Texans cornerback Kevin Johnson (sprained knee) and center-guard Kyle Fuller (hamstring) didn't practice.

Outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus was added to the injury report. He was limited with an ankle injury.

Cornerback Marcus Burley (knee), defensive end Christian Covington (knee), center-guard Greg Mancz (knee), guard Xavier Su'a-Filo (knee) and cornerback Kareem Jackson (hamstring) were limited.
