A late Nick Novak field goals kept the Detroit Lions at bay in a 20-13 Texans victory at NRG Stadium Sunday that got the Texans to midseason alone in first place in the AFC South with a 5-3 record.
The Texans are 5-0 at home for the first time in franchise history and have won six consecutive home games, also a franchise record. They're halfway to a fourth division title in six seasons.
The Lions (4-4) came in reeling defensively but had won three games in a row with late Matthew Stafford-led comebacks. And Stafford tried to do it again, finishing a 75-yard drive with a 1-yard pass to Theo Riddick for the Lions' first touchdown early in the fourth quarter after Corey Moore, starting at strong safety for the injured Quintin Demps, got called for pass interference in the end zone.
