Texans GM ditches first-round pick in trade back with Giants

The Houston Texans built their recent division champions through draft picks in the top of the first round. Thursday marked a reversal of that trend for Houston general manager Nick Caserio.

Caserio, Houston's leader of football operations since 2021, traded the No. 25 overall pick Thursday to the New York Giants. New York then added perhaps its quarterback of the future by selecting Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. What did the Texans receive in return? A smattering of future selections, including pick No. 34 and pick No. 99 in 2025, plus a 2026 thurd-round pick.
