Texans' GM, coach have no problem with owner voicing need for QB

INDIANAPOLIS - Texans owner Bob McNair remains adamant in his belief that his football team needs to upgrade at the quarterback position.

Although McNair repeatedly emphasizing an offseason goal might appear to pigeonhole the Texans' intentions a bit, general manager Rick Smith insisted that isn't the case. And Smith acknowledged that the Texans need to address the quarterback position.

"One of the best things about working for Bob McNair is that he has hired us to do a job," Texans general manager Rick Smith said Thursday at the NFL scouting combine. "He hired me to be his football executive and he has hired Bill (O'Brien) to be his head coach.
