Although it remains unclear if the Texans will land their left tackle of the future in the draft next week, their current offensive line configuration leads to one thing: Competition.
Texans general manager Brian Gaine anticipates former Pro Bowl left tackle Matt Kalil, who was signed to a one-year, $7.5 million contract and is still rehabbing from a knee injury, to vie for the starting left tackle job with incumbent Julién Davenport.
"We signed and brought Matt here on a one-year deal to compete for a starting role," Gaine said. "I said this when we first got Matt.
